San Andreas PS2 Cheats

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on PlayStation 2 (2004) is the largest DualShock 2 code book in this wiki. The health, armor, and $250k combo is the pad cousin of the PC word HESOYAM, but you never type letters on a PS2. You tap R1, R2, L1, X, then a compass loop. Enter every string during live gameplay with the D-pad. Do not pause. Analog-stick flicks will fail the combo even when your fingers feel right. If you are new to the sting, read how to enter cheats first, then come back to this table.

Save to a spare slot before you touch riot, attack, chaos, or six-star wanted. Those flags often cannot be toggled off. A Grove Street 100% file and a jetpack sandbox do not belong on the same memory-card block. The full warning list is on save-file warnings. This page is the original PS2 disc, not The Definitive Edition. Several codes below were later stripped from remasters; they still work on the 2004 PlayStation 2 build.

Sibling lists: Vice City, GTA III, Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories. Weapon slot contents across all five games sit on weapon sets. The hub map is codes.

Health, money, wanted, and weapons

The money combo also fills health and armor. Infinite health is a different string and it does not cover explosions, long falls, or drowning. Never wanted will not clear stars you already have; run the clear-wanted combo first if you are already hot. Six-star wanted is a one-way ticket to a military response, so keep it off a story slot.

Weapon set 1 is the early toolkit: brass knuckles, baseball bat, 9mm, shotgun, Micro SMG, AK-47, country rifle, rocket launcher, molotovs, spray can. Set 2 swaps in the knife, Desert Eagle, sawn-off, Tec-9, M4, sniper, flamethrower, satchels, and a fire extinguisher. Set 3 is the closer: chainsaw, combat shotgun, SMG, M4, sniper, rocket launcher, flamethrower, grenades. Entering a later set overwrites shared slots. If you only want a minigun-style late loadout, skip straight to set 3. Slot-by-slot comparison with Vice City and the Stories games is on weapon sets. Hitman skill is the San Andreas-only shortcut that dual-wields the guns that can dual-wield; it does not replace the need to restock ammo unless you also run infinite ammo.

Body, lung, and movement

Fat, muscle, and skinny are instant stat paints. They will fight your gym progress and your girlfriend requirements, so keep them off a completion save. Super jump and super punch are sandbox toys. Infinite lung helps long swims; it does not stop you drowning if you also have the limited infinite-health caveats stacked the wrong way. Never hungry was removed from The Definitive Edition; the original PS2 disc still has it.

Jetpack and parachute

The jetpack is San Andreas only. It is not in Vice City, GTA III, or either Stories disc. Magazines also printed a ten-button string that starts Left, Right, L1, L2. Long-standing PlayStation lists (GTAbase and similar) use the twelve-button sequence that starts Up, Down, Left, Right, then L1, L2, R1, R2, then the compass again. Try the GTAbase-style sequence first. If the sting does not play, use the magazine print. Do not mix analog-stick directions into either string. Stand in open ground so the pack does not spawn inside a wall. Full spawn etiquette is on how to get the jetpack.

Jetpack (magazine print)Left, Right, L1, L2, R1, R2, Up, Down, Left, Right
ParachuteLeft, Right, L1, L2, R1, R2, R2, Up, Down, Right, L1

The parachute is the safer sky toy if you already have a Hydra or stunt plane in the air. The jetpack is faster for mountain hopping and for reaching interiors the story does not want you in yet. Neither spawn belongs on a 100% slot if you still care about clean stats.

Vehicle spawns

Stand near a road or an open lot. The game drops the vehicle in a legal nearby node. The Rhino is the shared tank; San Andreas uses the twelve-button Circle, Circle, L1 opener that Vice City also uses, not the six-Circle GTA III string. Step-by-step tank notes are on how to spawn a tank. Hydra and Hunter are San Andreas air spawns. Do not drop a Hydra on Grove Street unless you want a wanted spike and a ruined parked-car row.

Handling, traffic, and world flags

Vehicle of death makes cars lethal on contact. Destroy cars wipes currently loaded traffic, including the car you are sitting in if you mistime it. Drive on water and flying cars are sandbox movement; flying cars on original PS2 use the Square, Down, L2 opener below, not a PC word. Improved handling also lets you tap L3 to jump in a car. Pedestrian riot and peds-attack-you cannot be disabled. Do not put those two on a story save.

EffectDualShock 2 buttons

Beach partyUp, Up, Down, Down, Square, Circle, L1, R1, Triangle, Down

Chaos mode is the full carnival: armed crowds, traffic insanity, and a city that no longer behaves like a mission graph. Rank it with other toys on chaos cheats. Health, clear wanted, and weapon set 1 are the mission-friendly cluster if you only need a restock.

Weather

Weather paints are usually safer than riots, but always midnight was later removed from The Definitive Edition. On original PS2 it still locks the clock. Sandstorm is the San Andreas-only desert trick. Storm, fog, and sunny share an R2, X, L1, L1, L2, L2, L2 opener and change only the last face button.

Definitive Edition versus original PS2

The 2004 PlayStation 2 disc still has infinite health, never hungry, always midnight, and several extra vehicle-visual or aiming codes that later remasters dropped. Common removals in The Definitive Edition include infinite health, never hungry, adrenaline, invisible cars, free-aim-in-car, floating cars, and always midnight. If a remaster list is missing a row you see here, that is expected. This page is the DualShock 2 original. Platform mixing is how fake jetpack-in-Vice-City posts get written; keep those on fake codes and compare input styles in PS2 vs PC codes.

San Andreas is the only disc in this library where a jetpack, a Hydra, and a $250k sting share one pad. Treat that power like a second save, not like a substitute for the story. When you are done spawning toys, go back to the codes hub or jump to Vice City if the next disc in the pile is 1986 Miami instead of San Andreas state.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for DualShock 2 codes, saves, and fake lists.

What is the San Andreas PS2 money cheat?

R1, R2, L1, X, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up. It also fills health and armor. It is the DualShock cousin of HESOYAM, not a typed word. See PS2 vs PC codes.

Does the jetpack cheat work in Vice City or GTA III?

No. The jetpack is San Andreas only. Step-by-step spawn notes are on how to get the jetpack. Lists that put a jetpack on Tommy or Claude belong on fake codes.

Which jetpack button string should I use?

Try Up, Down, Left, Right, L1, L2, R1, R2, Up, Down, Left, Right first. Magazines also printed Left, Right, L1, L2, R1, R2, Up, Down, Left, Right. Use the D-pad, and read how to enter cheats if the sting never plays.

Can I turn off the pedestrian riot?

Usually no. Riot and peds-attack-you often cannot be toggled. Save to a spare slot first. Details are on save-file warnings.

Do these codes work in The Definitive Edition?

Many PlayStation pad strings still work, but infinite health, never hungry, always midnight, and several vehicle-visual codes were removed from The Definitive Edition. Original PS2 still has them. Compare platforms in PS2 vs PC codes.

Where is the Rhino tank combo?

Circle, Circle, L1, Circle, Circle, Circle, L1, L2, R1, Triangle, Circle, Triangle. Walkthrough notes are on how to spawn a tank. GTA III uses a different six-Circle opener.
