Vice City Stories PS2 Cheats

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories landed on PlayStation 2 in 2007 after the PSP original. This page is Vic Vance’s DualShock 2 story pad, not the PSP multiplayer unlock menu. PSP lists include 25 percent, 50 percent, 75 percent, and 100 percent multiplayer content strings. Those unlocks are PSP-only. They are not PS2 story cheats, they do not belong in a 1984 campaign save, and they are not translated into L1 / R1 rows below. If a site shows those percentages next to a DualShock photo, ignore them.

On PS2, PSP shoulder labels L and R become L1 and R1. Enter codes during live gameplay with the D-pad. Do not pause. Analog-stick directions fail the sting. Save to a spare slot; pedestrian riot and peds-attack-you are world flags you may not get back. Warnings are on save-file warnings. Timing is on how to enter cheats. Story is single-player. This is a released 2007 PS2 port, not an online title.

Cash exists here: $250,000. That is a Stories-family feature, not a Vice City (2002) feature. Do not copy this money row onto the 2002 disc. The 2002 disc still has no cash and no god mode; that argument lives on Vice City and fake codes. There is no jetpack. The Rhino is an eight-button spawn unique to this port. Sibling pages: Liberty City Stories, Vice City, and the codes hub.

Weapons, cash, health, and wanted

Weapon sets use a Left, Right, face-button, Up, Down, other-face-button, Left, Right shape. Set 1 starts with X, set 2 with Square, set 3 with Triangle. Cash, health, and armor share an Up, Down, Left, Right opener and then double a face button before L1, R1. Raise wanted and never wanted share an Up, Right opener and then double Square or Triangle.

Raise wantedUp, Right, Square, Square, Down, Left, Circle, Circle
Never wantedUp, Right, Triangle, Triangle, Down, Left, X, X
SuicideRight, Right, Circle, Circle, L1, R1, Down, X

Weapon set 1 is Vic’s early kit: brass knuckles, nightstick, pistol, shotgun, Scorpion, AK-47, sniper, rocket launcher, molotovs. Set 2 moves to butterfly knife, Equalizer, shorty shotgun, Micro SMG, assault rifle, laser sniper, flamethrower, grenades. Set 3 is the closer: axe, Equalizer, SPAS-12, SMG, assault rifle, sniper, minigun, remote grenades. Later sets overwrite shared slots. Compare those slots with the 2002 Vice City dump on weapon sets. Health is the restock when an empire-building car is on fire and you do not want to spend the cash sting yet.

Vehicles, handling, and pedestrians

The Rhino is Up, L1, Down, R1, Left, L1, Right, R1. Count the shoulders; this is not the Liberty City Stories tank and not the Vice City twelve-button tank. Tank notes across the library are on how to spawn a tank. Perfect traction is the grip buff; some copies also treat L3 as a car hop after it is on. Destroy cars wipes loaded traffic. Traffic avoids you is the novelty that makes highway driving feel empty. Black cars and chrome recolor newly generated traffic. Pedestrian riot and peds-attack-you are the save-file hazards.

Riot belongs on chaos cheats, not on an empire save. Cash, health, armor, and weapon set 1 are the mission-friendly restock if you are still building Vice City property and cannot afford a stuck riot flag.

Weather

Sunny and clear share a Left, Down, R1, L1, Right, Up, Left opener and change only the last face button. Overcast, rain, and fog use nearby shapes. Weather is the least destructive family on this disc, but this port still inherits Stories-style one-way flags elsewhere, so test a toggle on a throwaway slot before you assume a second entry restores a beach noon.

PSP multiplayer unlocks stay off this list

Up, Up, Up plus doubled face buttons plus L, R is the PSP multiplayer unlock family. Those strings unlock PSP multiplayer content percentages. The PlayStation 2 story campaign does not use that menu. Publishing them as PS2 DualShock story cheats is how fake lists get padded. This wiki keeps them off the table. If you are on PSP, use a PSP guide. If you are on PS2, use the rows above. PC keyboard words do not apply. Platform mixing is in PS2 vs PC codes.

Vice City Stories is the 1984 pad: short strings, real cash, a unique Rhino, and a hard line against PSP multiplayer rows. When you want Tommy’s 1986 fifty-four-code book instead, open Vice City and remember that disc still has no money sting. When you want Toni’s 1998 Liberty, open Liberty City Stories. When you want a jetpack, you want San Andreas, not 1984 Vice. The index for every PlayStation 2 GTA in this wiki is the codes hub.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for DualShock 2 codes, saves, and fake lists.

Do Vice City Stories PSP multiplayer unlocks work on PS2?

No. Percentage multiplayer unlocks are PSP-only. They are not PS2 story cheats and they are not listed as DualShock 2 campaign codes on this Vice City Stories page.

Is there a money cheat in Vice City Stories on PS2?

Yes. Up, Down, Left, Right, X, X, L1, R1 adds $250,000. That row does not work in 2002 Vice City, which still has no cash code. See fake codes if a 2002 list stole this sting.

How do I spawn the Rhino in Vice City Stories?

Up, L1, Down, R1, Left, L1, Right, R1. That is not the 2002 Vice City tank. Compare them in how to spawn a tank.

Can I turn off the pedestrian riot?

Do not count on it. Save to a spare slot first. The general rule is on save-file warnings.

Does Vice City Stories have a jetpack?

No. The jetpack is San Andreas only. Use how to get the jetpack on that disc.

Are L and R the same as L1 and R1?

On PSP lists, L and R mean the single shoulders. On this DualShock 2 page they are already written as L1 and R1. Do not hit L2 unless the row says L2. See how to enter cheats.
