GTA PS2 Cheat Codes Find a combo, then reject the fakes

An on-site DualShock 2 lookup — not a trainer, not Action Replay, not a PC keyboard.

Tools Hub

These tools exist because GTA cheat lists on the wider web mix five PlayStation 2 games, a PC keyboard, and a drawer of GameShark cartridges into one screenshot. The cheat finder answers “I want this effect on this disc.” The fake-code decoder answers “this list is lying.” Neither tool downloads a trainer. Neither tool injects hex. They only point at built-in DualShock 2 sequences that already live on the original discs.

The library is GTA III (2001), Vice City (2002), San Andreas (2004), Liberty City Stories (2006 on PS2), and Vice City Stories (2007 on PS2). Story campaigns are single-player. Combos you enter on a DualShock 2 during live play are the whole scope. If a site asks you to enable a master code, you have left this wiki’s job and entered Action Replay territory.

Start here, then open the codes hub for the full per-game list. Rank what is safe on the tier list. Learn the input rules in how to enter cheats so a correct string actually registers.

What these tools are

The finder is an effect-first table. You pick health, armor, money, a weapon set, wanted stars, a Rhino, a jetpack, or flying cars. You then read one cell per game. If the cell says none, that is the answer. Vice City has no money cheat. Only San Andreas has a jetpack. GTA III has one weapon dump, not three. The finder will not invent a combo to fill a blank.

The fake-code decoder is a checklist of lies that keep circulating: Vice City cash, Vice City god mode, typing HESOYAM on a PlayStation pad, pasting a San Andreas jetpack onto III, dressing Action Replay hex up as a built-in code, and “immune blood” mistranslations of a simple health refill. Each myth names the disc it stole from.

Together they replace the worst search-result tables. You should still confirm the disc in the tray. A Liberty City Stories string will not run on Vice City Stories just because both names contain “Stories.”

What these tools are not

They are not a .exe trainer for a PC build. They are not a save editor. They are not a Gameshark, Action Replay, or CodeBreaker pack. Those devices use eight-digit hex, a master code, and a cartridge that sits between the disc and the console. This wiki does not publish those values and does not tell you how to build them.

They are not a Definitive Edition overlay. Some original PlayStation 2 effects were removed or changed on later ports. Button combos that work on a 2004 San Andreas disc may be missing on a 2020s re-release. Compare styles on PS2 vs PC codes and do not assume a trophy-bearing port matches the PS2 list.

They are not a substitute for a clean memory-card slot. A finder row that says “pedestrians attack” is still an F-tier idea on a story save. Read save-file warnings and the chaos cheats page before you treat a working combo as a good combo.

How the finder workflow goes

  1. Decide the effect: health, armor, money, weapons, wanted, Rhino, jetpack, flying cars.
  2. Open the cheat finder and read the row for that effect.
  3. Stop if your game’s cell says none. Do not “borrow” a neighbor cell.
  4. Open the matching game page from the codes hub and enter the string with the D-pad in live play.
  5. If you wanted a tank or a jetpack specifically, jump to how to spawn a tank or how to get the jetpack for spawn space and camera notes.

The finder is a crosswalk, not a replacement for the long lists. Weapon set 3 in San Andreas is not the same shotgun as weapon set 3 in Vice City Stories. When you need the actual gun names, use weapons.

How the fake decoder workflow goes

  1. Read the title on the disc: III, Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, or Vice City Stories.
  2. Open fake codes and match the claim.
  3. Reject anything that asks you to type letters on a PS2 pad.
  4. Reject Vice City money and Vice City invincibility on original hardware.
  5. Reject jetpack strings on any disc that is not San Andreas.
  6. Reject hex pairs presented as “PS2 cheats.”

If the claim survives that filter, it might still be a real combo with the wrong buttons. Check the finder, then the game page. A one-button difference at the end of a twelve-input string is enough to spawn nothing.

When to skip the tools and open a guide

Open how to enter cheats if you have never heard the confirmation sting. Open controls if a spawned Hydra or Rhino feels unplayable. Open mission-friendly cheats if you still need to finish the story. Open the Games hub if you are not sure which 3D GTA you even have.

The tools do one job: get the right built-in combo under the right disc name, and throw away the rest. They will not grind the story for you and they will not put a jetpack in Portland Harbor in 2001.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for DualShock 2 codes, saves, and fake lists.

Is the cheat finder a downloadable trainer?

No. It is an on-site table of built-in DualShock 2 sequences. Nothing is installed on the PlayStation 2. Open the cheat finder for the effect rows.

Do you list Action Replay or GameShark hex?

No. Those are cartridge devices with master codes. This wiki only documents built-in pad combos. If a paste is eight-digit hex, it does not belong here.

Why does the finder say none for some cells?

Because the effect does not exist on that disc. Vice City has no money cheat. Only San Andreas has a jetpack. Inventing a filler string would be a fake code.

Can I use these tools for The Definitive Edition?

Use them to understand original effects, then verify on that port. Some PS2 toys were removed. Input also differs on PC. See PS2 vs PC codes.

Where do I go after I find a combo?

Enter it with the D-pad using how to enter cheats, and keep a clean save as described in save-file warnings. Rank the idea on the tier list before you park it on a story slot.

Which page catches Vice City money lists?

The fake-code decoder. Original PlayStation 2 Vice City never shipped a cash combo or a god-mode combo. Health and armor are real; millions of dollars are not.
