GTA PS2 Cheat Codes Cheat lists that mix the wrong disc
Vice City money, god mode, HESOYAM on a pad, and hex dumps that were never built-in DualShock 2 codes.
Most “GTA PS2 cheat” images on the internet are a blender. They take a San Andreas PC word, a Vice City health refill, a GTA III cash drop, and an Action Replay hex line, then print them under one heading. This decoder names the usual lies so you can throw the image away and open the cheat finder instead.
The rule is simple: look at the disc in the tray, then look at the claim. Original PlayStation 2 Vice City has no money cheat and no invincibility cheat. The jetpack exists only in San Andreas. You cannot type HESOYAM on a DualShock 2. Eight-digit hex is a cartridge device, not a built-in code. The tools hub will not turn those facts into a trainer.
When a claim survives the checklist, confirm buttons on the matching game page from the codes hub. Enter them with the D-pad in live play, as how to enter cheats describes. Keep a clean slot as save-file warnings insists, because a real chaos code is worse than a fake one if you save it.
Always read the disc name first
The five PS2 3D games are not skins of each other.
- GTA III (2001) starts many codes with R2, R2 and has cash, health, armor, and one weapon dump.
- Vice City (2002) starts many codes with R1, R2, has three weapon sets, and has no cash and no god mode on the original disc.
- San Andreas (2004) is the kitchen sink: money-health-armor combo, three weapon sets, infinite ammo, jetpack, chaos mode.
- Liberty City Stories (2006 on PS2) uses short L1/R1 strings and almost never L2/R2.
- Vice City Stories (2007 on PS2) uses D-pad rhythms that look nothing like Vice City 2002.
If the article title says “GTA PS2” without a subtitle, assume it mixed at least two of those. The Games hub is the lineup if you are unsure which plastic case you picked up.
Fake: Vice City money
This is the number-one reprint. A table shows Tommy Vercetti with “$250,000” or “millions” and a button string that is actually:
- the San Andreas health-armor-money combo, or
- the GTA III cash combo that starts R2, R2, L1, L1, or
- a PC word such as THUGSTOOLS / ASPIRINE from a different build.
Original PlayStation 2 Vice City never shipped a cash pad code. Health uses Circle in the fourth slot. Armor uses X. Neither one adds dollars. If you need money in Vice City, play the story, buy property, or run taxi and vigilante work. Do not paste CJ’s combo onto Tommy and call it a discovery.
Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories do have $250,000 strings. That is a different pair of games, released later, with different buttons. Putting a 2006 Stories cash code on a 2002 Vice City disc is still a fake for the disc you are holding.
Fake: Vice City god mode
“Invincible Tommy” on PS2 is the second reprint. Real Vice City gives you a health refill and an armor refill. It does not give you a built-in invincibility toggle. PC lists sometimes include a word that later ports mapped differently. Action Replay packs sold “infinite health” as hex. None of that is a DualShock 2 combo on the original disc.
San Andreas has a near-infinite health string (Down, X, Right, Left, Right, R1, Right, Down, Up, Triangle) that still is not full invincibility and still fails some mission checks. Even that string is not Vice City. If a collage prints it under a palm-tree logo, it is mixing 2004 with 2002.
Fake: typing HESOYAM on a PS2 pad
HESOYAM is the PC keyboard word for San Andreas health, armor, and $250,000. On a DualShock 2 the same effect is R1, R2, L1, X, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up. There is no on-screen keyboard in the PS2 story. There is no “enter” key. If a video shows someone typing letters on a PlayStation controller, they are on a different platform or they are acting.
Other PC words that leak onto PS2 lists: AEZAKMI (never wanted), BAGUVIX (near-infinite health), ROCKETMAN (jetpack), PANZER (Rhino). Translate them with PS2 vs PC codes instead of mashing the D-pad in the shape of the letters.
Fake: San Andreas jetpack on GTA III (or Vice City, or Stories)
The jetpack is a San Andreas toy. The DualShock 2 string is Left, Right, L1, L2, R1, R2, Up, Down, Left, Right, L1, L2, R1, R2, Up, Down, Left, Right. GTA III has no jetpack. Vice City has no jetpack. The Stories games have no jetpack. A Hunter or a Hydra is not a jetpack. If you want a flying vehicle in III, you are looking at flying cars (chaos) or a spawned tank that still cannot hover. Use how to get the jetpack only when the boot screen says San Andreas.
Fake: GameShark / Action Replay presented as built-in
Cartridge devices sit between the disc and the console. They need a master code, then lines that look like DE428F52 C19E7B82. Those lines can force money or health in games that never shipped a pad combo for the effect — which is exactly how Vice City “money cheats” leaked into button lists. This wiki does not publish hex, does not explain how to enable a master code, and does not treat those lines as DualShock 2 cheats.
If a page says “PS2 cheats” and then prints pairs of eight-digit values, you are looking at a device guide. Close it. Open the cheat finder or the game’s codes page.
Fake: “immune blood” and other mistranslations
Some lists translate a health or armor refill as “immune blood,” “kebal,” or “god blood.” That wording makes a refill sound like invincibility. On PS2, a health code fills the red bar. An armor code fills the blue bar. San Andreas can do both plus cash in one string. None of those is a promise that bullets bounce off.
Other translation tells: “anti police” used for a one-step wanted clear, “tank appears” copied under every logo, “weapon pack 3” printed for GTA III (which has one pack). When the English is a machine mash of five games, trust the disc name and this decoder over the pretty table.
A 30-second check
- Read the disc: III, Vice City, San Andreas, LCS, or VCS.
- Reject typed words on a pad.
- Reject Vice City money and Vice City god mode.
- Reject jetpack on anything but San Andreas.
- Reject hex.
- Reject “immune blood” as a synonym for invincible.
- Confirm the survivor in the cheat finder.
- Rank it on the tier list before you save.
A fake code wastes a minute. A real riot code on the wrong save wastes the week. Learn to tell them apart, then spend the real combos on the slot you actually meant to break.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for DualShock 2 codes, saves, and fake lists.
Is there a Vice City money cheat on original PS2?
No. Health and armor refills exist. A cash drop does not. Lists that show millions of dollars are mixing San Andreas, GTA III, Stories games, PC words, or Action Replay hex.
Can I type HESOYAM on a DualShock 2?
No. HESOYAM is a PC keyboard word. The pad version is R1, R2, L1, X, then a Left, Down, Right, Up loop. See PS2 vs PC codes.
Does GTA III have a jetpack cheat?
No. The jetpack is San Andreas only. III can spawn a Rhino and can enable flying cars, which are different toys. Use how to get the jetpack on the correct disc.
Are GameShark lines the same as built-in cheats?
No. They need a cartridge and a master code. This wiki does not list hex. Built-in DualShock 2 strings are on the cheat finder and each game page.
What does “immune blood” usually mean?
A mistranslated health or armor refill. It is not invincibility. Vice City still has no god-mode pad combo. San Andreas near-infinite health is a different, riskier string.
How do I confirm a code after it passes this page?
Match the disc, copy the cell from the cheat finder, enter it with the D-pad as in how to enter cheats, and keep a clean save. If the effect is riot or attack, that clean save is mandatory.
