Vice City PS2 Cheats

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on PlayStation 2 (2002) ships about fifty-four DualShock 2 cheat codes. That count is real. A cash drop is not. Original PS2 Vice City has no money cheat and no invincibility / god mode. If a banner promises Tommy Vercetti a million dollars or an unkillable toggle, it is mixing in San Andreas, GTA III, a PC keyboard word, or a GameShark. Those fakes are called out on fake codes. This page stays on pad strings that the 2002 disc actually accepts.

Enter codes during live gameplay. Do not pause. Use the D-pad, not the analog stick. Health also repairs the vehicle you are currently driving, which is why the combo is the restock people reach for when a Stinger is on fire and there is still no cash sting to buy a new one. Input timing lives in how to enter cheats. Keep a spare save; pedestrian riot and peds-attack-you cannot be disabled. Read save-file warnings before you overwrite Ocean Beach.

PC Vice City can type YOUCANTLEAVEMEALONE for invincibility. That word is not a DualShock combo and it is not on this list. Compare the two languages in PS2 vs PC codes. The jetpack is San Andreas only. There is no Vice City jetpack.

Health, armor, wanted, and weapons

There is no $250k row here. That is not an omission. GTA III and San Andreas have cash strings; Vice City does not. Armor is a separate combo from health. Suicide exists if you need a fast retry. Clear wanted is the lower-wanted string; there is no third secret cop-off code hiding behind a magazine scan.

Weapon set 1 hands brass knuckles, a baseball bat, molotovs, a Colt .45, a shotgun, a Tec-9, a Ruger, a sniper rifle, and a flamethrower. Set 2 is the professional kit: katana, remote grenades, Colt Python, stubby shotgun, Mac-10, M4, PSG-1, rocket launcher. Set 3 is the closer: chainsaw, grenades, Colt Python, SPAS-12, MP5, M4, PSG-1, minigun. Entering a later set overwrites shared slots. Full cross-game slot tables are on weapon sets.

Vehicles and handling

The Rhino uses the same twelve-button Circle, Circle, L1 opener as San Andreas, not the six-Circle GTA III tank. Spawn it in an open street, not in an interior. Tank walkthrough notes are on how to spawn a tank. Flying cars and hovering cars are different strings. Perfect handling also lets you tap L3 to jump while driving. Blow-up-cars deletes currently loaded traffic, including the car under you if you are unlucky.

Invisible cars (wheels remain; bikes unaffected)Triangle, L1, Triangle, R2, Square, L1, L1

Black cars and pink cars recolor newly generated traffic where the model allows it. They do not paint every unique mission vehicle in the city at once. Bloodring Banger and Bloodring Racer are two body variants of the arena car; stand near a road when you enter either spawn.

Pedestrians, clothes, and traffic lights

Riot and peds-attack-you cannot be deactivated by entering the combo again. That is the line that ruins 100% files. Peds-have-weapons and chicks-with-guns are still chaotic, but they are the lesser cousins. Change clothes cycles Tommy through unlocked looks; it is not a story skip. Green lights help a land-speed run more than a shootout.

EffectDualShock 2 buttons
Change clothesRight, Right, Left, Up, L1, L2, Left, Up, Down, Right

If you want a ranked view of which of these belong on a story slot, use mission-friendly versus chaos cheats. Health, armor, clear wanted, and weapon set 1 are the restock cluster. Riot is never that cluster.

Weather and time

Cloudy and foggy share an R2, X, L1, L1, L2, L2, L2 opener with other weather paints and change only the last button. Slow motion and fast motion are gameplay-speed toggles, not clock cheats. They make gunfights feel like a music video and they make driving missions harder than they need to be. Keep them off a taxi-rank or vigilante save.

What this page will not list

No cash. No god mode. No jetpack. No Hunter helicopter spawn on original PS2 Vice City. Costume-character codes (play as Candy, Lance, and the rest) exist in the wider 54-code set; they are toys, not story progress, and they still belong on a spare slot. If a site shows a typed word next to a DualShock photo, ignore the word and open PS2 vs PC codes. If a site shows a money row, open fake codes.

Vice City is the neon disc in this library: three weapon sets, a shared-style Rhino, flying cars, and zero dollars from the pad. Restock with health and armor, spawn a tank when you want a parade down Ocean Drive, and keep the riot string away from the save that still has the Ken Rosenberg missions on it. When you need San Andreas cash or a jetpack, change discs and open San Andreas. When you need 2001 Liberty, open GTA III. The index for every disc is the codes hub.
